About
The Virginia Queer Collective was born out of a need. As the world began changing, LGBTQ+ leaders in Northern Virginia had to respond to lack of financial and volunteer support. They found that support in each other. The need to keep missions going, to keep helping people, was a shared purpose that led to a new chapter in advocacy.
Mission
Our mission is coordinate resources and programming focused on awareness, education, events, resources, services, support, and training benefiting the LGBTQ+ community.
Vision
To foster relationships between LGBTQIA+ organizations within the Commonwealth, in order to 1) better understand and support the mission and resources of each; 2) consolidate support to LGBTQIA+ folks and their allies to meet their needs; 3) to provide necessary resources to better support, fund, and empower programming; and 4) avoid duplicating efforts in some areas and neglecting others.
